This study, based on a paper presented to the Italian Court of Auditors, aimed to compare the functioning of the decentralisation of the French unitary state in order to highlight its specificities in relation to the system of the regional state itself, in contrast to the Franco-centric vision and the influence, though not negligible, that the hexagon could have on the Italian peninsula.
